Deepview page working differently on Android compared to iOS/PC

I have a deepview page that takes parameters from the link we give branch and redirects to our site.  It works on desktop and ios, but not Android.  (I am using Chrome browser on each device)

See these links to deepviews:

https://oncolleges.app.link/login-en?mysite=http://secureapplicant.ontariocolleges.ca

https://oncolleges.app.link/password-reset?code=12345&mysite=http://publicesmapplicant.ontariocolleges.ca/en/account/changepassword

The deepview page has a “Use Web” link whose code is like this:

<a href="{{link_data.mysite}}?code={{link_data.code}}" class="cta-button text-light">Use Web</a>

This redirects to our site perfectly for iOS and Desktop, using the mysite and code variables.  Namely, each respective link noted at the beginning goes to these pages, respectively:

https://publicesmapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca/en/account/changepassword?code=12345&mysite=http://publicesmapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca/en/account/changepassword&_branch_match_id=297455242022011984
https://secureapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca/?mysite=http://secureapplicant.ontariocolleges.ca&_branch_match_id=297455242022011984

However, for Android browser, they go here, respectively:

http://secureapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca%2Chttp//secureapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca?code=

https://publicesmapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca/Error/OnErrorLang?aspxerrorpath=/en/account/changepassword,http:/publicesmapplicant.dev.ontariocolleges.ca/en/account/changepassword

It seems like branch is parsing out the variables differently on Android than iOS.

Please help!

Hi,

We’ve been having issues with our API today that’s resulted in Deepviews causing some errors. We’ve returned to a stable state, but Deepviews will not be patched until Monday. It would make the most sense if we dug into your issue Monday, as it may be related to today’s issues.

We will look back into this issue on Monday after our deploy, at which we will reach out to you! Thank you so much for your patience, and I deeply apologize for the issues you’ve experienced.

Thanks, let me know when that deployment is completed.

Hi,

Sorry for the hassles here. It seems this issue was different from the one that we fixed and rolled out. I was able to successfully reproduce the issue at my end and will create a task for our engineering team to look into. I will follow up with updates soon! Thanks!

Hey,

I just wanted to follow up on this issue and let you know that we have patched it in our backend and the fix will go out next week in our scheduled deployment. I hope this unblocks you. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hey @iman13 – This fix has finally been deployed. Your Android deepviews should now work as expected. Happy linking!
