This is a working Beta of our online community. We hope to constantly test and implement new features that will make this a better community for everyone.

We have a few ideas of our own, but we’d love to hear yours too. Post them here and you may just see the feature implemented.

Also, this AMA will always be open: https://mobilegrowth.org/amas/alex-and-amanda/  We’ll respond as soon as we can.

Here’s some candid feedback as someone that just signed up:

I’ve actually saved the links to several threads and put them in my to-do list so I can remember to write up “blog post” type answers to the questions.  A lot of these questions are very open-ended (what’s your best user retention strategies, user acq tricks, etc) and would require a lot of time and thought.  Because it’s Friday night, I don’t have the time to write up a long answer.  So I’m hoping that I’ll come back next week and write up a good answer to some of these questions.  We’ll see if I actually get over the motivation/ability hump to actually do it!

To combat this – how can you make it easier for the community to engage with questions or post their own content?

Communities like Designer/Hacker News are based around sharing links to content that’s already been created, and then the community can have a discussion around it.  It’s a lot easier to write a quick response to a link, than answer a broad question like “what’s your best user retention strategies?”

Hi Andrew,

I hope we get to see your answers!!

You bring up great points. In planning this community, we tried to balance this problem by creating several different sections (there are more features to come — this is only the beta version!).

  • The “Answers” section is where we expect people to ask questions with definitive answers– where one answer is complete and can be described as the best.

  • The “Discussions” section right now is planned to be the place were people can talk and share experiences,  without really having to have a best answer.
  • We currently have in the works an “Articles” section which will be more similar to Hacker News– post an article comment on it; but it will also allow for blog style original content. In the meantime however, we have made a subcategory called “In the News“. People can post there articles there and comment.

Hope that clarifies things! I’m glad to have you as part of this community, and I’m really looking forward to the knowledge you’ll share!

Hi Jecka,

Unfortunately, we haven’t built this site to have translations capabilities yet.

However, if you wanted to post in Tagalog and start a community there, you can do it in the Growth Around the World section.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
